The Islam Karimov Foundation provides its grant holders with full scholarship for the tuition and living abroad for a period of up to two years to complete postgraduate study in Europe and the United States.

The Foundation has announced the competitive selection of young men and women who have graduated higher education for obtaining grants for the study in the master’s program in Europe and the United States.

Specialties can take a grant for the study in such fields as the natural sciences (renewable energy and chemistry), water and land resources management, machine-building technology, food technology, food safety, food production and its marketing, architecture (urban development, protection and restoration of architectural monuments), design (product design, industrial and architectural design), as well as painting.

Starting from 1 January 2017, the weekly teaching load for educators of some institutions of out-of-school education has been increased.

So, the teachers in children’s schools of music and art for primary grades – from 22 to 24 hours, and for high school – from 18 to 20 hours, teacher-coaches in sports schools – from 24 to 26 hours, circles leaders in Barkamol Avlod centers – from 18 to 24 hours with a simultaneous increase in their base wage tariff rate by 15%.

These amendments were introduced in scheme of payment for teaching staff in accordance with the Presidential Decree dated December 27, 2016.

Every year around 50 thousand high-tech complex operations are performed, more than 600 thousand patients are rendered ambulatory services at the specialized scientific and practical medical centers of the country.

Currently, high-quality medical services are provided in specialized scientific-practical medical centers in such fields, as cardiology, surgery, eye microsurgery, urology, internal medicine and medical rehabilitation, endocrinology, pulmonology and phthisiology, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology and venereology, pediatrics and others.

As a result of actual researches on more than 20 areas of medicine, over 1,000 diagnostic and treatment standards were developed. In particular, in 2016 – the Year of the Healthy Mother and Child, over 350 children with hearing problems were made the cochlear implant surgery at the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Pediatrics. We should note that such kind of operations were initially introduced in 2015.

By January 1, 2020, Uzbekistan is going to purchase another 4,884 foreign textbooks for higher education.

It is planned to purchase 5,864 textbooks in total according to the list approved by the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to purchase foreign educational and scientific literature for the higher education system”, a part of them, namely – 980 items have been acquired this year.

The purchased books are intended for 1st year undergraduate students of high education institutions, as well as students of retraining courses and advanced training for managers and teaching staff under 15 basic higher educational institutions and are distributed among them.
