In accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to prepare and hold the celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan” of June 20, 2017 in Tashkent on November 30 and December 1 of this year, an international scientific and practical conference on “The role and importance of the Constitution in building a democratic legal state “, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The organizers of the conference are the Constitutional Court, the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis, the Ministry of Justice, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the coordinator of OSCE projects in Uzbekistan.
The conference is expected to include representatives of the bodies of constitutional control – members of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and equivalent institutions and countries of Europe (total of 20 countries), as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Uzbekistan. Members of parliament, representatives of judicial and law enforcement bodies, ministries and departments, scientific institutions and civil society institutions of the republic will take part in the event.
The conference is dedicated to revealing the role and significance of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is a unique example of political thinking of our people, in strengthening independence, ensuring peaceful and prosperous life in the country, creating a firm guarantee of protecting the rights, freedoms and interests of citizens, building a legal democratic state based on market relations and private property, the formation of a strong civil society, the acquisition of Uzbekistan a worthy place in the international arena, and e study the experience of constitutionalism of developed democracies.
The conference is expected to be delivered by President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey Zuhtu Arslan, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia Arif Hidayat, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Tajikistan Mahkam Mahmudzoda and representatives of the constitutional courts of other foreign countries.
Following the results of the international conference, it is planned to adopt the relevant document.
