International workshop on “Public-private partnership: promotion of international best practices and standards in Uzbekistan” was held in Hyatt Regency Tashkent Hotel.
The event was organized in cooperation with the ministries of Economy, and Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the United Nations Development Program, the International Finance Corporation, embassy of Switzerland and the EBRD project coordinator in Uzbekistan for developing a mechanism of public-private partnership in the country, studying international experience in creating its legal framework.
The workshop was attended by representatives of a number of ministries and departments, scientific institutions, representatives of international financial institutions, diplomatic corps accredited in Uzbekistan, analysts and experts.
Importance of improving the draft law “On public-private partnership” in the process of implementing tasks outlined in the Action Strategy, developed at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, reforming state and public administration, as well as prospects of introducing the experience of developed democratic states in practice were considered at the international workshop.
The workshop was organized within the framework of EBRD technical assistance for development of social infrastructure. At the event, issues of adaptation of legal and normative framework for implementing public-private partnership to international standards were discussed.
