International flower festival in Namangan, Uzbekistan to be visited by 2.5 million people this year

According to the prognosis of the organizers, more than 2.5 million people will visit the 62nd International Flower Festival in Namangan this year. This was noted by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Khokimiyat (Administration) of Namangan region, Uzbekistan.

For the second time in its history, the festival will last for two weeks – the last week of May and the first decade of June. Previously, this period was 2-3 days, and in 2021 – one week.

In 2022, the festival was visited by tourists from over 30 foreign countries, this year guests from more than 40 countries are expected to arrive. The geography of florists participating in the festival will also expand: last year representatives of South Korea and India participated in the exhibition, this year delegations from Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan and Italy are expected to arrive.

It is planned to plant 15 million flowers and tree seedlings in the park named after Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur in Namangan, where the festival will take place, and 10 million on the streets of the city.

The streets of the city will also be decorated with various installations.

Currently, 25 hotels, 526 family guest houses, 6 hostels, 18 sanatoriums, 4 recreation centers and 9 dormitories in Namangan region can accommodate more than 8,500 guests. On the eve of the festival, 5 more hotels will be opened.

Now a group of volunteers consisting of 60 people is being formed to serve the guests. The cultural program of the festival will be rich and interesting.

Poets and writers, circus performers, Uzbek pop stars and folklore ensembles will perform on the scenes installed in the Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur Park, the Valley of Legends Park.

At the end of the festival, its participants will be awarded in several categories.
