international_observerIn the 5th Navoi district election commission of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with international observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.

Chairman of the district election commission U.Mavlanov told the guests about the activities and powers of the District Election Commission on Elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, carried out preparatory work on polls formed in the region, reports National Information Agency UzA.

All 333 polling stations in Navoi region in the manner prescribed by law provided with the necessary equipment, facilities and literature. Meetings are held the presidential candidates with voters. Proxies carry out propaganda work.

During the meeting, the international observers were informed about the procedure of formation of precinct election commissions, the role of government in this process, the importance of cooperation between the polls and the media.

– We are delighted to be involved in monitoring the preparations for the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, – said the representative of the observer mission Camilla Michalsen. – During these meetings, we see an active preparation for the upcoming March 29 elections this year. We liked the hospitality, sincerity of Uzbekistan’s people, and its openness in communication.
