In first working week of February in the “Palais des Congrès” in Paris took place the 26th International Congress of oncologists with more than two thousand leading scientists, practitioners, experts in the field of Clinical Oncology and researchers from dozens of countries.
In the work of Paris Congress also took part experts of National Cancer Research Center in Tashkent and other specialized medical institutions of Uzbekistan.
International Congress of Oncologists in Paris is recognized as the leading global forum in which oncologists around the world can share their best experiences, research results, to examine latest achievements in order to effectively fight cancer, improve their skills in its diagnosis and treatment.
The main issues on the agenda of the Congress became struggle with the increasing number of cancer in the world, development of the optimal methods of prevention and treatment using advanced development of chemotherapy.
Uzbekistan pays serious attention to the prevention and treatment of cancer. The participation of scientists and physicians of the Republic in the Paris forum has not only see the results of the world’s scientific achievements, in order to further their use in clinical oncology of republic, but also to present to the scientific community the latest developments of domestic experts.
This year, scientists oncologists from Uzbekistan took ever active part in the Paris forum and presented more than 15 poster reports, which reflected in the program.
After the contest, the international jury awarded first place to report of doctor of Tashkent city Oncology Center Zilola Olimova – “Metronomic chemotherapy with lapatinib and vinorelbine in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer”.
In this regard, it should be noted that Z.Olimova won first place at the International Congress of oncologists second consecutive year.
Chairman of the jury, head of Oncology Department Hospital Pitié-Salpetrier Roger Moavad in this regard noted that Uzbek specialists presented reports distinguished by delicate scientific approach, high professionalism and proved that Uzbekistan is one of the leading countries in the field of prevention and treatment of cancer.
