Tashkent hosted the CIS Islamic Banking and Finance Forum 2019, which was organized by the Centre of Islamic Banking and Economics Al Huda.
The goal of the forum is to study the unused market of the CIS countries and adopt the latest trends, opportunities in the field of Islamic banking and finance in the region.
A two-day workshop on Islamic banking, insurance and Islamic microfinance was held within the framework of the forum.
Issues related to opinions on Islamic finance, affiliate and trade regime of the Islamic banking and finance, as well as methods of Islamic banking and finance based on leasing (Ijara), Sukuk (the Islamic Bonds) were considered. In addition, Islamic microfinance, investment opportunities in Islamic banking and Takaful in the CIS, new trends in Islamic banking and finance in the CIS countries, as well as the role of Uzbekistan in development of Islamic banking and the financial sector in the CIS were discussed.
The forum was attended by experts on Islamic banking and finance, academics and researchers, and media representatives.
