cooperation_tourism_sectorThe National Federation of Tourism of Italy held a presentation of tourist potential of Uzbekistan, organized by the Embassy of our country in Rome together with Federturismo Confindustria of Italy.

During the event, participants informed that Uzbekistan is famous for its ancient history, rich historical and cultural heritage, magnificent monuments. It was noted that in Uzbekistan there are large world-famous historical and cultural sites and cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva Shakhrisabz, which in the Middle Ages were known as centers of Islamic culture and science, included in UNESCO World Heritage List.

One of the key factors in the development of the tourism sector of Uzbekistan is that its unique location nature, open up for tourists great opportunities for recreation and travel.

As a fact of recognition of significant opportunities in the tourism sector of Uzbekistan became conduct of the 99th Session of the Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization in Samarkand last year.

However, it was noted that during the years of independence, the country implemented a number of measures aimed at the development of the tourism industry, in particular, the construction of infrastructure, hospitality, transportation and other. Only in 2014 for development of the structure of international tourism has been sent to more than 580 million USD of total investment.

Present at the meeting stated that such events can reveal new horizons in the Uzbek-Italian mutually beneficial cooperation.

According to CEO of Federturismo Antonio of Federturismo Barrek, Uzbekistan, located at the crossroads of ancient trade routes, has a rich history and a huge tourism potential.

– These ancient cities like Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva are, undoubtedly, “pearls” of the Great Silk Road, which today continue to maintain its magic fabulousness and to attract millions of tourists from all over the world – he stressed.

In turn, Head of Department for justice statistics of Federturismo Valery Fantozi stressed that the presentation of weighty provided information on the activities of the National airlines company of Uzbekistan “Uzbekistan Airways”, which is the largest airline in Central Asia, with a modern fleet a high level of safety has been very useful. According to her, the presence of direct flights between the cities of Italy (Rome and Milan) and Tashkent contributes greatly to the attractiveness of the Uzbek areas for many thousands of Italian and European tourists.
