Japanese equipment will be involved in implementation of “Prosperous village” program

The State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Roads held a ceremony of signing an intergovernmental document on free provision of Japanese equipment for construction and repair of roads in Uzbekistan on the basis of a grant on the Economic and Social Development Programme of the government of Japan.

At the event, organized within the framework of implementation of the Decree of the President of the country “On measures for further improvement of road management system” of February 14, 2017, Chairman of the State Committee for Roads A.Abduvaliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Nobuaki Ito and others emphasized that relations between Uzbekistan and Japan are consistently developing in all directions, an important factor is the agreements reached between the two states.

This project provides for delivery to Uzbekistan of road construction and repair equipment of Japanese company “Sakai Heavy Industries Ltd”. This technique will mainly be used in repair of internal roads of villages of Syrdarya, Jizzakh, Khorezm regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan within the framework of “Obod qishloq” (“Prosperous village”) program.
