The capital saw the discussion of the results of socio-economic activities of JSC “Uzbekiston Temir Yollari” in the first quarter of 2016 and large projects under implementation in the sector.
“Uzbekiston Temir Yollari” over the past three months paid particular attention to the modernization of the production, implementation of investment policy aimed at accelerating the pace of technical and technological updates, in addition, substantial progress was made in improving the economic performance of the company.
In the period under review, the train stations conveyed 16.7 million tons of cargo, which is by 100 thousand tons more compared to the same period of 2015. In addition, passenger traffic has also increased: 5 million passengers have reached their destinations. Export services were provided exceeding $81 million. Manufacturing enterprises of the organization produced industrial goods worth 85.22 billion soums.
The participants in line with other issues talked about the work carried out on the implementation of the Investment program. According to the forecast for the current year, at the expense of all sources it is planned to utilize $799.22 million. The amount of funds utilized in January-March, according to the Investment program amounted to $187.47 million.
These funds have been channeled towards the implementation of strategically important projects. They include “Construction of new electrified railway Angren-PAP”, “Electrification of Samarkand-Bukhara with the organization of high-speed traffic of passenger trains” and “the Construction of the railway line Navoi-Konimeh-Misken”.
Particular attention at the conference was paid to the organization by the “Uzbekiston Temir Yollari” employment and job creation.
