The German company Knauf is embarking on a new investment project worth 52,5 million USD. At two of its plants in the Bukhara region, the News Agency Uzbekistan Today reported.
This year, Knauf and JSC “Uzstroymaterialy” signed a new agreement, the implementation of which is provided in the Decree of the President “On measures for further expansion of economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Federal Republic of Germany”.
The German company has invested to Uzbekistan more than 51 million USD. In Bukhara region, there are two companies – JV “Bukharagips” for the production of dry building mixtures and JV LLC “Knauf Gypsum Bukhara”, which produces plasterboard.
First the company started production of dry building mixes in August 2009. Its capacity is 60 thousand tons a year. In 2011, the plasterboard production plant was built in Kagan with a capacity of 20 million square meters per year.
