Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Uzbekistan organized an exhibition of rehabilitation tools, which were purchased as an example and offered to launch their production in the country.
Currently, there are 578,000 people with special needs in Uzbekistan, 17,300 – single elder people and about 3 million pensioners. These people need rehabilitation tools.
In last three years, some 8,770 people with disabilities received wheelchairs, 3,423 – hearing-aid device, 4,676 – crutches and 6,754 – walking stick. About 4.7 billion soums were directed due to state resources. This year, it is planned to double expanses from the state budget on this direction.
Uzbekistan earlier imported necessary rehabilitation tools. Uzbekistan imports equipment and launches local production, including rehabilitation tools.
At the exhibition, the Ministry proposed technical documentation and samples of products to local producers, which can localize their production in Uzbekistan.
The exhibition determined the most demanded rehabilitation tools, production of which can be launched in Uzbekistan in short-period of time.
