After the approval of the agenda, the lawmakers discussed the draft law ‘On transparency of public authorities and management’ developed pursuant to the Concept of further deepening democratic reforms and formation of civil society in the country.
During the discussion of the bill the lawmakers noted that it was directed in the implementation of the constitutional right of citizens to information, in which clearly defined the procedures of informing the public about the activities of public authorities, provided the issues of ensuring transparency and openness of public authorities, the national policy reforms, foreign and domestic policy based on political pluralism, diversity of opinions about the events happening in the country and abroad.
The draft law defines its main tasks ensuring the access of individuals and entities to information, increasing the responsibility of governments and their officials for their decisions, as well as determining the order of the dissemination of information about the activities of public authorities, and regulating the main principles of transparency of governments.
In general, the adoption of this draft law, according to lawmakers, will strengthen the legal framework of access of individuals and entities to information about the activities of public authorities, guaranteeing to obtain this information.
After a thorough discussion of each article the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis has passed a law that will be sent to the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
