Administrative Council of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union’s (ABU) meeting was held in Tashkent.
Heads of leading TV and radio companies and media structures of the leading states of the region attended the event, organized this year for the 105th time.
In Uzbekistan, journalism is developing at an accelerated pace, in particular TV journalism, modern information and communication technologies are being used effectively, special attention is paid to the issue of training qualified young cadres.
At the meeting of the Administrative Council of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), these areas were given special attention, information on the experience of leading countries was given. Issues of further development and deepening international cooperation in the field of TV and radio broadcasting, strengthening of Uzbekistan’s role in the global media space and development of the country’s tourism potential were discussed.
According to the Secretary-General of the Administrative Council of ABU, Javad Mottaghi, the interest of leading media organizations of the region to Uzbekistan will lay a solid Foundation for bringing reforms in the sphere of television to a multimillion Asian-Pacific audience.
The main objective of the organization is to exchange television news, making contribution to the development of broadcasting organizations by implementing joint television projects and assisting in acquisition of rights to coverage of international forums, sports, regional competitions and events.
The National TV and Radio Company of Uzbekistan is a member of this organization since 2004. In 2015 and 2017, the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan organized media forums in Tashkent.
Participants will travel to Samarkand and Bukhara within the framework of the event. TV channels of Turkey, India, China and Kazakhstan are planning to prepare special projects about Uzbekistan and its tourism potential.
