President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on January 27 in Tashkent received the credentials of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Uzbekistan Pamela Spratlen.
During the meeting they discussed the state and prospects of strengthening bilateral relations, topical international and regional problems.
Our head of state congratulated the Ambassador and wished her success in her responsible mission.
For its part, the US Ambassador commended the positive dynamics of the development of multifaceted cooperation between the US and Uzbekistan.
As noted at the meeting, both sides attach great importance to expanding mutually beneficial and fruitful relations, including trade, economic, investment and other areas, implementation of existing potential to increase trade turnover, creation of joint high-tech enterprises in various industries.
Consultations held at the end of last year in Tashkent between the foreign ministries of two countries, and at business forum with broad representation of members of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce and the business community of our country were discussed further development of bilateral cooperation.
Both sides also exchanged views on cooperation in the cultural sphere.
