On February 10, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who arrived in Tehran, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif. It was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The sides discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations in the political, trade-economic, transport-communication, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other fields.
Ministers reaffirmed their mutual interest in strengthening and expanding Uzbek-Iranian relations in all spheres of mutual interest.
During the exchange of views on regional issues, special attention was paid to the development of the Afghan situation, including the agenda of the upcoming international conference on Afghanistan “Peace process, cooperation in the sphere of security and regional cooperation”, in Tashkent.
At the meeting, issues of cooperation within the UN, the SCO and other international organizations were also discussed.
