On May 4, 2018 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is taking part in the International Conference “Countering terrorism and preventing violent extremism” (Dushanbe, May 3-4, 2018), met with the Minister of State for External Affairs of the Republic of India, Mobashar Jawed Akbar.
Practical aspects of Uzbekistan – India cooperation, first of all the course of preparation for the forthcoming state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India, were discussed in the conversation.
The sides exchanged views on concrete mechanisms of interaction within the framework of implementation of the Tashkent Declaration adopted on March 27, 2018 following the results of the high-level international conference on Afghanistan “Peace process, security cooperation and regional connectivity”.
At the meeting, current issues on the agenda of the meeting of the Council of Heads of the SCO member states, in which the Indian side will participate for the first time as a full member of the organization, were also considered.
