As part of the 105th International Labor Conference, the delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister of Labor of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abduhakimov met with ILO Director-General Guy Ryder.
During the meeting, ILO Director-General Guy Ryder stressed that Uzbekistan has made not an easy way to establish a mutually beneficial cooperation with the ILO. The country has demonstrated its openness to the international community, a high commitment to the implementation of the obligations made in the framework of the ratified ILO Conventions.The country’s work in this direction can serve as a good example for other countries, especially in Central Asia. The results of fruitful cooperation demonstrated significant progress on the implementation of international labor standards. Great importance in this process plays accession of Trade Unions and the Federation of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and the International Organization of Employers (IOE), respectively.
During the meeting, Head of ILO underlined that Uzbekistan achieved positive results in social-labor relations and strong social protection of the population.
He noted that Uzbekistan demonstrates a responsible and balanced approach to international obligations in labor sphere.
