The Ministry has been reorganized completely; some of the powers have been transferred to the Healthcare and Finance Ministries.
This is provided by Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further improve the system of social support and medical-social assistance to vulnerable groups” dated February 22, 2016.

Thus, the provision of medical and social assistance to the disabled, including disabled children, war veterans, veterans, single elderly and other vulnerable groups, as well as the training of the Organization with disabilities and development, inclusive vocational training will now deal with the Ministry of Healthcare.
The Ministry of Healthcare has also received in its responsobility the nursing homes “Muruvvat” and “Sakhovat” for the disabled and the elderly, the National Center for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics for Disabled People, regional rehabilitation centers for the disabled, and resorts to war and labor veterans, republican specialized vocational colleges for persons with disabilities opportunities in Tashkent and Fergana, as well as law school №2 of the capital.
Monitoring of the appointment and payment of social benefits and material assistance to needy families and individuals are now exercised by the Ministry of Finance.
Ministry of Labor will continue to analyze the level of employment, monitor the quality of the employment program performance. In addition, the agency will be responsible for providing jobs, vocational training and retraining of the unemployed population, primarily young people, women and the disabled. The Ministry is also tasked with monitoring of implementation of safeguards for workers rights and legislation observance in the field of labor protection and employment.
