The prestigious British gastronomic magazine Olive Magazine has published an article about the most ‘tasty’ food locations in Uzbekistan. The well-known food writer Eleanor Ford told about her journey and acquaintance with national cuisine in the article ‘Olive Pitstop: the Best Places to Eat & Drink in Uzbekistan.’

Eleanor describes the most impressive food places that she managed to visit. She especially remembered the acquaintance with Bakhriddin Chustiy, chef and founder of the projects Oshxona.uz, Chustiy’s cuisine, Tez Food and Sal-Sal, whom she called ‘Uzbek Jamie Oliver.’

In her travel around Uzbekistan, the author compiled a gold collection of must-eat dished of the Uzbek cuisine. The review also includes such places as the Plov Center, restaurants Platan and the Old City in Samarqand, the Amelia Hotel, the Old Bukhara restaurant, the Silk Road Spices in Bukhara and the Khorezm Art restaurant in Khiva. Having tried some dishes in these cities, Eleanor describes them in detail in a language understandable to foreigners: plov, shashlik, manti, tukhum-barak, flatbreads, and various salads of Uzbek, Russian and Korean cuisine.

In 2016, the book ‘Samarkand: Recipes and Stories from Central Asia and the Caucasus’ was published in Great Britain, co-authored by Eleanor Ford. One of the authors of the book Caroline Eden traveled around Uzbekistan in 2015, collecting interesting legends and the most delicious recipes of Uzbek cuisine. The book was presented at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London in July 2016.
