Several important agreements have been reached during the working visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan.

I would like to congratulate the Turkmen people with the Day of adoption of the Constitution of Turkmenistan and the birthday of a great poet Makhtumkuli. The birthday of the poet was widely celebrated in Uzbekistan as well, a street and a monument have been opened in his honour. We will create the Ashgabat garden on this street, which will become a symbol of mutual relations between the two countries, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. An agreement was reached during the negotiations on supporting new areas of cooperation, widening the scale of trade-economic ties, developing direct contacts between the regions.

Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan mutually support each other on an international arena. A steady cooperation is carried out within the frameworks of such international organizations, as the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the International Fund for saving the Aral Sea and others, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov remarked. The documents, signed today, will enhance the horizons of our cooperation, will provide a new impetus in their development.

It was highlighted that following the opening of Turkmenabad-Farab road and railway bridges, the volume of cargo transportation has increased by 2,5 times.

It was stressed during the negotiations that the interests of our countries are alike, they have a mutual endeavour to comprehensively develop cooperation and possess a huge potential and opportunities to elevate the cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
