National Geographic Traveler magazine has named the ten best destinations in the CIS. They include Samarkand, Bukhara, Tuva and Altai, southern coast of Crimea, Caucasus mountains, Pamir, Mineralnye Vody and Pyatigorsk, Arctic, lake Issyk-Kul, the Caucasus, Kamchatka, St. Petersburg and Vyborg.
“The route of each of the Central Asian travel usually passes through Samarkand. Here, in the midst of the burning from sunlight homes are majestic madrasah of Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tilla-Kari, included in the list of UNESCO world heritage”, – National Geographiс Traveler states.
According to the magazine, “it’s also worth a trip to Bukhara through which the Great Silk Road ran, which until now has preserved luxury caravanserai, a complex of mausoleums and mosques, decorated with traditional tiles”.
