The conference is organized as a kind of platform for establishing relations between graduates of the Umid Foundation. During its preparation, over 600 people from various countries registered on the website http://conference.eyuf.uz, which confirmed the high interest in the conference.
The dialogue of this format is in tune with the goals of the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation, which will create opportunities for young people to get education abroad, to use knowledge and experience on the country’s development path.
The El-Yurt Umidi Foundation was established in 2018 on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. It was organized on the basis of the Umid Foundation, which in 1997-2003 funded 828 talented youth representatives in undergraduate and graduate studies abroad. From now on, the directions and goals of the scholarship programs of the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation have been significantly expanded. In 2018, 375 young boys and girls applied to foreign higher education institutions in four types of educational programs, in 2019 the number of students reached 605 people. In 2020, the Foundation is planning to cover 1000 students.
To date, 5 graduates of the Foundation hold ministerial positions in Uzbekistan. This indicates the potential of the Umid and El-Yurt Umidi Foundations, and the availability of huge untapped opportunities.
83 percent of the first Umid scholarship holders have specialties in the fields of economics, law and the social sphere. Today, such personnel are important in the context of reforms ongoing in all spheres of the state and public life of the country.
