New projects in cooperation with South Korea

Entrepreneurs, who arrived in Uzbekistan, representatives of large companies of South Korea got acquainted with the economic potential of Fergana region, conditions created for investors, activities carried out in “Kokand” free economic zone.

The business forum of business circles of the two countries, held in the regional center, has become an important factor in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation. The growing economic potential of Uzbekistan, favorable business environment created in the country, availability of a number of benefits and conditions for foreign investors were noted at the business forum.

There are twenty joint ventures with South Korean investors in Fergana region. Last year, as a result of entrepreneurs’ cooperation, products worth $79 million were exported. Korean Garden is being created as a symbol of friendship between the people of the two countries, in Kokand.

At the business forum, memoranda were signed on opening in Fergana of a school on studying Korean and training in various crafts, cooperation and exchange of experience in the field of medicine, establishment of a manufacturing enterprise in the regional center.

Representatives of well-known companies of South Korea, local entrepreneurs got acquainted with activities conducted in “Kokand” free economic zone. Information was presented on projects that are being implemented here.

The guests also got acquainted with activities of the Uzbek-Singapore joint venture “Indorama Kokand Textile”. They also visited “UzSungwoo” joint venture operating in Fergana.
