In January 2016, in accordance with the Decision of the Council of the Heads of the Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Rashid Alimov, who worked as the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan in the People’s Republic of China and the permanent representative of the SCO Secretariat in 2005-2015, started work as the Secretary General of the SCO.
