In Jizzakh Region, a training seminar entitled “Social partnership is a guarantee of peace, accord, prosperity and sustainable development” has taken place.

The event was held by the public foundation for supporting nongovernmental non-commercial organizations and other institutions of civil society under the Oliy Majlis (parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the public commission for social partnership under the Jizzakh Regional council of people’s deputies and the regional territorial department of the independent institute for monitoring civil society formation.

At the event, there was discussion of issues of the further stepping up of social partnership in resolving socio-economic, socio-political and cultural-humanitarian problems and providing legal consultations and methodological help for entities of social partnership.

Consistent reforms being implemented in the country on the basis of the principle “From a strong state to a strong civil society” play in important role in stepping up the work of nongovernmental non-commercial organizations (NNO). NNO are taking an active part in implementing reforms, including in ensuring the implementation of state programmes and dealing with social and economic issues.

Nongovernmental non-commercial organizations are also making a worthy contribution to ensuring the implementation of the Year of Maternal and Child Health state programme.

“There are 537 nongovernmental non-commercial organizations functioning in the region. At today’s event, stages of the development of ties of social partnership in the years of independence were analysed in detail, ” says the chairperson of the public commission for social partnership under the Jizzakh Regional council of people’s deputies, Gulnora Torayeva.

During the seminar, as a result of the implementation of projects directed towards carrying out the Year of Maternal and Child Health state programme, such NNOs as Istiqbolly Avlod and Vatan sports clubs and the Bayoz public creative centre of the regional gymnastics federation were presented.

There was discussion about the results of work of the public commission for social partnership under the Jizzakh Regional council of people’s deputies and tasks for the fourth quarter.

Participants in the seminar were given detailed answers to questions of interest.
