Today, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev visited Uzbekistan to pay tribute to the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.
The head of state laid flowers at the tomb of the Islam Karimov, at the cemetery Hazrat Khizr of Samarkand, and gave tribute to the late head of state.
The visit program also includes a meeting with interim President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev.
The First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov passed away on September 2 at the age of 78. On 3 September, the head of state was buried in accordance with Muslim customs in his native city of Samarkand besides his parents.
