Oil Workers with Academic Degree

A ceremony of awards of graduates and completion of the 2016/2017 academic year took place in the Tashkent branch of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, which marks its tenth anniversary this year. The outcomes of development of the system of highly educatedstaff for the oil and gas industry were summed up as part of the event.

Speaking to the audience, the Board Chairman of Uzbekneftegaz National Holding Company Alisher Sultanov said as follows: “The branch was established in January 2007 to further develop and improve training of highly educated and qualified staff for the oil and gas and petrochemical industries of the country, and expand international cooperation in higher education. The mission has been accomplished. Today, the graduates of the branch work in almost all organizations of our holding company, maintaining a high demand for its graduates.

In the course of work it was decided to significantly expand the branch: it was allocated an additional territory, where large-scale construction works are currently underway. Under specific measures, the education of staff for the oil and gas industry was concentrated here. Last year, all students of the Oil and Gas Department, which was closed at the Tashkent State Technical University, were transferred here. Ultimately, Uzbekistan has shaped a new branch of higher education, which provides education of highly proficient staff.”

Alexander Maksimenko, Director of the branch of the Russian State University of Oil and Gas, agreed by Alisher Sultanov, emphasizing that “presently, graduates of the Gubkin University work in all corners of the world and on all continents. The Tashkent branch is focused on training staff for the companies operating in Uzbekistan, and seeks to provide training in the best traditions of the university. The companies engaged in the industry, the potential employers of our graduates, have been providing a substantial support in this challenging mission. They have helped to build the logistical capacity for the educational process, and currently keep creating the appropriate conditions for the remarkable expansion and improvement of staff training. Today, we award diplomas and see off 147 graduates who are ready to face complicated challenges on the development of industry enterprises.”

The guests were shown a presentation film about the life and work of the university, which reflected the most important stages of the establishment of the branch of the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas in Tashkent.

The university graduates were awarded diplomas and souvenirs in a grand atmosphere.

They were invited to agraduate ball with the participation of pop stars of the Uzbek stage, and performance of the Club of the Funny and Inventive team.
