POPULATION OF UZBEKISTAN RISES BY 401,8 THOUSAND PEOPLE

According to preliminary data by State Statistics Committee, the permanent population of the Republic of Uzbekistan as on October 1, 2016 amounted to 31977,1 thousand people, having increased year-on by 401,8 thousand people (1.3%). At the same time, the urban population made up 16181,4 thousand (50.6% of total population), rural population – 15795,7 thousand people (49,4%).

Fertility. According to preliminary data, in January-September 2016 the number of births amounted to 532,4 thousand children, respectively, the birth rate made up 22.4 p.m.(in 2015 at 22.8 p.m.).

Mortality. January-September 2016 registered 108,9 thousand deaths, respectively, the mortality rate made up 4.6 p.m.

Of the total number of registered deaths, 59.4 percent are deaths from diseases of the circulatory system, 8.9 percent from neoplasms, 5.9 percent from diseases of the digestive system, 5.2 percent from diseases of the respiratory system, 6.3 percent from accidents, poisonings and injuries.

January-September 2016 saw 5.6 thousand of deaths among children under 1 year of age, with the infant mortality rate amounting to 10.1 per mille.

Of the total number of registered deaths among children under 1 year of age 55.5% had died from conditions arising in the perinatal period, 24.4% from diseases of the respiratory system, 9.8% following congenital anomalies and 3.1% from infectious and parasitic diseases.

Marriages and divorces. For the period January-September 2016, registry offices registered 176,1 thousand marriages and 22.2 thousand divorces. The marriage rate in the country made up 7.4 p.m., while the divorce rate 0.9 p.m.

Migration. The number of arrivals in the reporting period reached 106.5 thousand people, the number of departures – 128.2 thousand. Migration balance amounted to minus 21.7 thousand people (in 2015, minus 23.1 thousand people).
