President Decrees on Awarding World War Two Veterans

President_UzbekistanPresident of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a decree on 6 March on rewarding the participants of the World War Two in connection with the national holiday, Day of Memory and Honor, celebrated on 9 May, and the 70th anniversary of Victory over fascism in the World War Two of 1941-1945.

In accordance with the decree, participants and the disabled of the World War Two will be rewarded with UZS 700,000.

The ministries of finance, labor and social protection, defense, and interior affairs, as well as the National Security Service and the Central Bank have been entrusted with rewarding the veterans at special solemn events.

The Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, and the regional and Tashkent city administrations, jointly with various ministries and organizations will hold holiday meetings and events devoted to the defenders of the freedom and honor of the country.
