At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on 4 December 2017, the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, will arrive in Tashkent on an official visit.
During the forthcoming meetings at the highest level, it is planned to discuss the current state of Uzbek-Afghan relations and the priorities for developing long-term cooperation, exchange views on key international issues and matters of regional security.
As a result of the talks, it is expected that the Joint Statement of the Heads of State will be adopted, a package of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents will be signed to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, investment, transport, communication, scientific, educational and other fields, as well as commercial contracts.
The visit of the President of Afghanistan to Uzbekistan also includes a visit to the city of Bukhara, where the high guest will meet and address the faculty and students of the Bukhara State University.
