On December 19, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the President of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) Serdar Çam.
The Head of our state, warmly welcoming the guest, noted with satisfaction that the state visit to Turkey on October 25-26 this year brought relations between our countries to the level of strategic partnership.
Implementation of joint programs and projects with Turkish partners in trade, industry, investment, transport, tourism, medical, educational and other spheres was positively assessed.
At the meeting, the importance of further expanding activities of TIKA in our country and bringing it to a new level was noted.
The agency has already implemented about 700 grant projects worth 23,6 million dollars, in Uzbekistan.
The need to identify promising areas for bilateral cooperation, systematic development of TIKA activities in Uzbekistan based on specific projects, was emphasized.
Importance of prompt development and implementation of corresponding “road map” was noted, an agreement was reached on a multiple increase in the number of projects and programs implemented in the spheres of economy, culture, education, healthcare, environmental protection, tourism and a number of other socially important areas.
The Head of the TIKA expressed sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the warm welcome and conveyed the best wishes of the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Prime Minister of this country Binali Yildirim.
Serdar Çam expressed his full support for the proposals and initiatives forwarded by the Head of our state, as well as readiness of the Turkish side to exert maximum efforts for their timely and effective implementation.
