President of Uzbekistan receives American – Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce delegation

On October 22, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation of American – Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce led by its Chairman Carolyn Lamm, who arrived in the country to participate in the events of the American Business Week in Uzbekistan.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, sincerely welcoming the guests, noted with special satisfaction the dynamic development of Uzbekistan – American multifaceted cooperation. Fruitful results of the high-level visit to the United States in May this year opened up a new era of strategic partnership.
Cooperation in trade-economic, investment and innovation spheres with such leading American companies as General Electric, Boeing, CNH Industrial, John Deere, Honeywell, Silverleaf, White & Case and many others is expanding.
The portfolio of promising projects exceeds $5 billion and covers mechanical engineering, oil and gas, gas chemical, electric power, textile and food industries, agriculture, healthcare and education.
Since the beginning of this year, 25 new enterprises with participation of American investments have been created in Uzbekistan, the trade turnover has doubled.
Important role of American – Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce, which includes 37 world famous companies, investment corporations and the United States banks was noted in strengthening mutually beneficial business cooperation.
Specific prospects for further deepening practical cooperation in various sectors of the economy, primarily promotion of technology partnership were discussed at the meeting.
The importance of timely implementation of the signed agreements, as well as preparation of investment projects involving new members of the Chamber was emphasized.
Special attention was paid to further formation of favorable conditions for long-term presence of leading American companies in Uzbekistan.
Carolyn Lamm, on behalf of the American business community, expressed deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and full support for the activities of the Chamber’s members in the country.
It was emphasized that the ongoing reforms and transformations in Uzbekistan, covering all areas and directions, open up broad opportunities for successful implementation of business initiatives.
It was emphasized that the American – Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce is ready to actively promote and participate in further development and strengthening of productive trade-economic, investment and technological cooperation between the two countries.
