The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received the heads of delegations of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, who arrived in our country to participate in the eleventh session of Secretaries of Security Councils of the SCO countries.
The head of state welcomed the participants and expressed hope that the meeting scheduled to be held in June this year in Tashkent will involve a larger composition.
As was noted, the first session of Secretaries of Security Councils of SCO member states was held in Tashkent twelve years ago on the initiative of Uzbekistan. Since then, the institute of interaction of the Secretaries of Security Councils takes a special place within the organization, significantly complementing the existing in the SCO unique in its own way the practice of multilateral cooperation.
President Islam Karimov in his thoughtful in content and constructive speech gave his vision of the contemporary situation in the world in general and in the region, in particular.
