Odinakhon Abdulkhamidova is a 12-year-old resident of Khavasabad mahalla in Khavast district, Uzbekistan’s Syrdarya region.
She has been treated at the Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Clinical Immunology since the age of 4.
She recently wrote a letter to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In her letter, Odinakhon expressed her gratitude to the President for the conditions created to restore the health of children suffering from cancer and provide them with medical care on her behalf and behalf of other children under treatment. She also asked for a computer so that she could fulfill her childhood desires – to develop an interest in music and painting, learn Russian and get a profession.
Odinakhon’s wish came true. Early in the morning, a group of activists led by the Hokim of the region Gafurjon Mirzayev visited her house and handed a response letter and a gift from the President to the girl. She was also given school supplies, textbooks and other gifts.
The President’s response letter says: “Dear daughter Odinakhon! After reading your letter, I once again felt with all my heart that the children of our country live in pure thoughts and hopes. You wrote that you want to become a cook in the future, that you fell in love with music and drawing at the “Kind School”. I was even happier to learn that you are very interested in learning languages. After all, the ideal generation that we dream of will consist of boys and girls with such modern knowledge and professions! I am sure that with high aspirations and diligence, you will achieve your goals. I think that the computer given to you will help with this. May all your wishes come true!”
“At first I didn’t believe it”, says the girl’s mother, Dildora Abdusamatova. – The response letter made our whole family happy. At the age of 3, my daughter fell ill with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. We turned to Syrdarya doctors. They directed us to this center. For 9 years now, my daughter has been treated in this center. A few years ago there were no such conditions as now. Thanks to the attention of our President, the appearance and situation in the Center have completely changed. Modern medical equipment, advanced technologies have further expanded the possibilities for treatment. Not only are the children being treated, but also their parents are very satisfied.
The most important thing is that during the visit of the President to this Center, his communication with each child and mother, fatherly advice and instructions, the words that, if necessary, we will bring the best specialists from abroad to show the children and treat, gave me and my daughter even more strength.
“The words of our President in the letter: “I am sure that with high aspirations and diligence, you will achieve your goals” gave me confidence”, says Odinakhon. – They inspired me. Reading the letter, I felt proud that I have such a kind, warm-hearted President who worries about my fate.
