More than a thousand representatives of Russia, heads of regions, managers of leading companies and industrial enterprises, and other business structures, are taking part in the forum that has been opened at Uzexpocentre.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin attended this forum.
“We highly appreciate and sincerely value the established stable and trusting relations with the Russian Federation, our strategic partner and ally. The organization of the forum and the high level of representation are another clear confirmation of mutual interest and powerful potential of our cooperation”, – said the President of Uzbekistan.
Uzbekistan and Russia attach great importance to interregional relations. Recently, such contacts have acquired high intensity. More than 40 mutual visits were conducted. In September-October, leaders of all 14 regions of Uzbekistan visited 26 entities of the Russian Federation. Due to this, new markets have been opened for the supply of products, jobs have been created, and people have additional sources of income.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that it is the leaders of the regions and the entrepreneurs, who determine specific areas of interaction.
The need for strengthening efforts on creating joint high-tech industries, expanding cooperation for production of demanded products and development of markets in the third countries was noted.
Thus, based on the reached agreements, it is planned to create a joint textile cluster in the regions of Uzbekistan with participation of companies in Ivanovo region, to organize in Surkhandarya region a modern agro-complex for growing and supplying fresh fruits and vegetables to Moscow market, together with Sverdlovsk region – the construction of a plant for production of light and heavy metal structures in Kashkadarya region, jointly with partners from Tatarstan – production of chemical fertilizers in Tashkent region and pharmaceuticals in Karakalpakstan, the use of infrastructure of wholesale distribution centers in Moscow region, Bashkortostan, Orenburg region and other regions of the Russian Federation for the supply of agricultural products. There are many such projects.
The main result of this interaction is that strong and long-term partnership has been established between the regions of the two countries.
Practical issues of business cooperation, including specific projects and programs, were discussed at the forum. Following the negotiations and meetings at the forum, agreements and contracts worth $2 billion were signed.
The proposal of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on annual conduction of the Interregional Forum was supported.
