On December 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The President of Uzbekistan cordially congratulated the Leader of Azerbaijan on his birthday, warmly wishing him good health, prosperity and new success, as well as peace and prosperity to the fraternal people of Azerbaijan.
It was noted with deep satisfaction that, thanks to the regular and fruitful dialogue at the highest level, the strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are developing dynamically in all areas.
Since the beginning of this year, the trade turnover has grown by 50 percent. The practical implementation of cooperation projects is underway, including in the energy sector, to expand the production of cars, create cotton-textile and sericulture clusters, produce building materials and other products.
A joint investment fund is being created to support promising cooperation projects.
The heads of state noted the importance of building up the portfolio of direct trade contracts and long-term investment agreements.
It was emphasized that a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan is visiting Baku these days to agree on measures to accelerate the implementation of cooperation projects.
The telephone conversation between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan took place in a traditionally warm, open and friendly atmosphere.
