Presidents visited ancient monuments in Khiva

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, accompanied by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the “Ichan kal’a” fortress and Nurillabay complex.

The highest-ranking guest was told about the history of these holy places, activities conducted here for tourism development.

Surahs from the Quran were read in memory of our great compatriot in the mausoleum of Pakhlavon Mahmud, located in “Ichan-kal’a” open-air museum.

Presidents of the two countries also visited the Shergozikhan madrasah. Became familiar with activities of the museum, created in honor of scientists who studied in this madrasah. In his time, Makhtumkuli Faraghi lived and studied here for three years.

At the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with other historical cities, the historical, architectural and tourism potential of Khiva is developing. Priceless cultural monuments of the region are restored taking into account the preservation of the pristine appearance, the territory is being improved.

In particular, activity was carried out on reconstruction and restoration of the historical complex of Nurillabay. The house of receptions, a gallery, an amphitheater, a restaurant is erected.

All this contributes to careful preservation of the rich historical heritage of our great ancestors, a wide demonstration to the world community the high creative potential of Uzbekistan people.
