Samarkand region has 1,210 schools, 556 kindergartens, 17 centers of children’s creativity “Barkamol avlod”, 46 child and adolescent sports, 10 specialized and 26 music schools, 3 “Houses of Mercy”, 1 Institute of retraining and advanced training of teachers, 17 information and resource centers and 120 IRCs at secondary schools, according to regional governor’s office.
In the past academic year, two students, who got the highest number of points in the Olympiads had an opportunity to participate in international competitions in Changchun (China) and Daejeon (Republic of Korea). 21 pupils of children’s music and art schools of region tool a worthy places in the international competitions held in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Latvia, Romania, Turkmenistan and Russia.
Six young gymnasts brought gold medals from international competitions in rhythmic gymnastics. Also, our pride are 14 athletes, who showed the best results in international sports tournaments.
