Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva have been and remain important centers of the Silk Road, a symbol of the progress of science, the arts of the medieval East. On the Uzbek land great philosophers, scientists, thinkers lived and worked which are widely known and respected throughout the world. That is why many Indonesians want to visit Uzbekistan and see firsthand the places associated with their names.
