Romanian_Foreign_MinistryRepresentatives of Romanian delegation, headed by State Secretary for Strategic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania Daniel Yonitse, arrived in Tashkent to participate in the IV round of ministerial political consultations.

After the talks, he has kindly agreed to give an interview to the news agency “Jahon”.

– The continuity of the bilateral relations between Romania and Uzbekistan is an obvious indication of a significant level of cooperation reached between the two countries. Of course, we have a significant potential for its further development, and that is what was the main goal that we pursued during the negotiations – to strengthen the fruitful dialogue to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all areas, to maximize the enormous potential.

20 years have passed since we have established a relationship between the two countries and, in general, we have gained experience in foreign policy, he demonstrated that all the areas of cooperation are equally important.

Romania and Uzbekistan have great potential of cooperation, both on bilateral and multilateral levels. The geographical location, population, similar economic sector, tradition and history, as well as culture, tourism, political dialogue, security and peace among the nations, all of this together is an important factor, and there is no doubt that our two countries can cooperate on all the above aspects.

Our current visit is very short. I am familiar with the rich history of Uzbekistan and would like to have more time to visit the beautiful city located on the Great Silk Road – Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. This is only a brief list of which can be supplemented with many more great places are available.

I am confident that development of relations between Romania and Uzbekistan will give me the opportunity to visit your wonderful country again in the future. During the short time of my stay in Uzbekistan, I noticed the progress made by the country as a result of reforms. I could see beautiful clean and well-maintained Tashkent with magnificent architectural structures. He was particularly glad of hospitality of the Uzbek people. I am convinced that our bilateral relations will develop dynamically.

Taking this opportunity, I want to invite you all to visit Romania.I was very impressed with the excellent reception of your hospitality to our delegation. I promised myself that once again I will come to your beautiful country.
