Sanoat Qurilish Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation sign Cooperation Agreement worth 100 million USD

The Cooperation Agreement worth 100 million USD was signed between Sanoat Qurilish Bank (Uzbekistan Industrial and Construction Bank) and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation on December 16, 2019 in Tokyo during Uzbekistan – Japan business forum on the occasion of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan.
The agreement provides for development of interbank cooperation in trade finance, supply chain financing, treasury operations, as well as financing projects involving the use of energy-efficient technologies.
The financing line of the Japanese bank will allow Sanoat Qurilish Bank to expand the resource base for financing projects involving the import of technological equipment and services from Japan and other countries. The predominant side of this cooperation is provision by the Japanese bank of resources for pre-shipment financing of the export of goods and services of Sanoat Qurilish Bank customers.
For reference. Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and its group of companies provide a wide range of financial services both in Japan and abroad. The scope of this banking corporation covers corporate and retail banking services, services in the international capital markets, venture capital and securities.
The corporate headquarters are located in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. It has 72 branches in 38 countries. The corporation has about 70 000 employees.
According to Sanoat Qurilish Bank, in 2018, the bank announced that its total assets amounted to 1835 billion USD, and its total income amounted to 7140 million USD.
