Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization kicked off in the city of Bishkek.
After the ceremony of joint photographing, a narrow format meeting was held.

The meeting was opened by the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov. It was attended by the Heads of the SCO member states.

Issues of deepening multilateral interaction between the participating countries of the organization were discussed.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the summit.
Uzbekistan actively participates and develops close cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The initiatives of Uzbekistan’s leader contribute to enhancing the international authority of this structure, expanding the scope of practical cooperation.

At last year’s meeting in Qingdao, the Joint Appeal by the Heads of State of the SCO to Youth and the Action Plan for its implementation were adopted. In September, Tashkent hosted the first meeting of the heads of the SCO member states’ railway administrations. “Silk Road” International University of Tourism in Samarkand, and the Public Diplomacy Center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Tashkent have been opened. There are many such examples.

At the meeting, the President expressed relevant opinions and important initiatives for further improving the organization’s activities, expanding partnership in investment and innovation, digitalization, transport and communications, environment, promotion of agricultural technologies, tourism and humanitarian exchanges, as well as ensuring regional security.
