Sericulture: Results and prospects

Bukhara hosted the meeting of the Executive Committee of the International Sericultural Commission.
This major event was attended by a delegation led by the Secretary General of the ISC, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare of India, as well as heads of silk industry organizations of such ISC member states as India, Japan, Romania, Bangladesh, Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding between Uzbekipaksanoat Association and the Central Silk Board of the Ministry of Textiles of India was signed. This document is aimed at effective use of available opportunities, further expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and India.
Foreign guests got acquainted with benefits provided for development of silk industry in Uzbekistan, local entrepreneurs products on the example of Bukhara Brilliant Silk joint venture.
Activities of Bukhara Brilliant Silk LLC, enterprises for deep processing of silkworm cocoons left a great impression on guests.
Uzbekistan became a member of the International Sericultural Commission on September 17, 2017.
