On May 20, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited one of the military units of the Eastern military district.
In accordance with the new Defense Doctrine of the country, organizational and structural reforms have been carried out here. The outsourcing system for food supply has been introduced. This contributes to concentration of military personnel on improving their professional skills.
The Head of the state enquired about books read by soldiers.
“No minute of servicemen should be wasted. Together with physical exercises, it is important to read every day, learn foreign languages, expand horizons. You should be worthy of the title of defender of the Motherland every day,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
All conditions are created for enhancing skills and activities of personnel in sports, in the unit. On weekends, meetings with scientists and artists are held here, performances are organized.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev talked with soldiers, representatives of the intelligentsia.
“We provide the army with material, modern equipment and weapons. However, spiritual and psychological training of personnel is not given enough attention. There are grounds for checking physical and combat readiness. In the same way, a lot of work should be done to ensure high spirituality, psychological stability of soldiers,” the President said.
The Head of the state gave instructions on development of a resolution for improving the spiritual and psychological readiness of the military.
