At the meeting dedicated to issues of implementation of “Obod qishloq” (“Prosperous village”) and “Obod makhalla” (“Prosperous neighborhood”) programs, speaking about the work on studying the makhallas of the city of Tashkent, the Head of the state noted with regret that the affairs in the capital are even worse than in the most remote districts of the country.
– Our people for a month are watching on TV about the deplorable state of the capital’s makhallas. Khokims and heads of authorized agencies do not know that not only in Chilanzar, but also in almost all districts of the city, there are places where things are worse than in Manas. The officials did not visit such places at all, – the President said. – Until when will the heads of khokimiyats and responsible departments wait for instructions from above, when will they, on their own initiative, eliminate problems and shortcomings? Unfortunately, I still cannot get a sensible answer to my question.
In order to eliminate such shortcomings, the “Obod makhalla” program was adopted based on positive experience of “Obod qishloq” program.
Only 3 trillion 130 billion soums of funds will be allocated to implement the program in 2018-2019. In short, this program has become an important step in improvement of makhallas.
