SIEMENS ENTERS THE UZBEK MARKET

The German Siemens and the State Committee for Investments (SCI) of Uzbekistan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The SCI Chairman Azim Ahmedkhajayev and Siemens Director in Uzbekistan Iskander Buranov took part in the ceremony in Berlin. The Memorandum has become the first document to cover the most relevant issues of cooperation and interaction between the company and the republic in the areas of mutual interest.

“The parties expressed their intention to establish a strategic partnership in such areas as modernization of energy, industry, transport infrastructure, automation and security of buildings, digitalization of manufacturing sectors,” the Siemens press service reported.

The document envisages preparation of various scenarios for the development of energy in Uzbekistan with a clear focus on the introduction of innovative technologies, job creation, product localization and export opportunities. It is also planned to elaborate on an integrated program of Siemens energy equipment training for young engineers and graduates of specialized educational institutions.

With regard to digitalization of industry, the parties will study the feasibility of introduction of modern technologies at the enterprises of Uzbekistan that meet the concept of digital production.

The application of innovative solutions will touch upon the railway transport sector as well. It is planned to jointly develop projects on the creation of marshalling yards, as well as automation and electrification of the railway infrastructure as a whole.
