The President of Uzbekistan held telephone conversations with the heads of Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
On July 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held telephone conversations with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov and the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The heads of foreign countries sincerely congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on his birthday and expressed warm wishes of peace, wellbeing and prosperity to the multinational people of the country.
During telephone conversations, it was specially noted that the large-scale transformations in the country at a qualitatively new stage in the field of improving state and public construction, reforming the social sphere and liberalizing the economy, ensuring the rule of law, security and interethnic harmony contribute to a comprehensive and accelerated development of the country, constant increase in the level and quality of life of Uzbekistan population.
The balanced and constructive foreign policy pursued by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, international and regional initiatives of the Head of the state aimed at further deepening mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation with foreign partners, as well as ensuring peace, stability and sustainable development in the region and at the global level were highly appreciated.
It was emphasized that the adoption on June 22 of this year of a special resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations on the issues of regional and international cooperation in Central Asia demonstrates the recognition and broad support of the world community for practical efforts to form and strengthen an atmosphere of friendship, good-neighborliness and trust in the region.
The heads of states exchanged views on the current aspects of bilateral relations and issues on the international agenda.
During the conversation with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the state and prospects of development of Uzbekistan – Russia strategic partnership and alliance were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to expansion of mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment cooperation, preparation and implementation of major investment projects in various sectors of the economy. The schedule of forthcoming meetings at the highest level was considered.
The President of Uzbekistan also sincerely congratulated the President of Russia on holding the 2018 FIFA World Cup at the highest level and successful performance of the Russian team.
The importance of full-scale implementation of arrangements and agreements adopted following the results of bilateral meetings at the highest level was noted during a telephone conversation with the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further promote Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan relations of good-neighborliness and strategic partnership, especially the implementation of specific projects in trade, industrial cooperation, transport and transit, energy, as well as expansion of cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Specific aspects of cooperation in these areas were discussed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan during a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev, held in the first half of July 24.
During the telephone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed sincere gratitude for the personal contribution to strengthening ties of friendship and good neighborliness, deepening strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between the two fraternal countries.
The dynamic growth in the volumes of mutual trade, successful implementation of joint projects, expansion of transport communications, development of intensive contacts at the business level and between the regions of the two countries, a rich program of cultural, humanitarian and business events within the framework of the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan were noted with satisfaction.
In a telephone conversation with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, special attention was paid to issues of preparation of the first state visit of the Head of Tajikistan to Uzbekistan and filling the agenda of the forthcoming summits with concrete content, including new mutually beneficial projects.
The sides agreed to use all opportunities for further strengthening Uzbekistan – Tajikistan relations based on the ties of centuries-old friendship and good-neighborliness, supporting joint business initiatives and contacts at the regional level, and promoting an active cultural and humanitarian exchange.
Specific areas for long-term cooperation were discussed by the President of Uzbekistan with the President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov. The fruitful results of the first meeting of the Council of Heads of Border Regions of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, chaired by the prime ministers of the two countries in March this year in Fergana, were noted with satisfaction.
The mutual interest in development of full-scale partnership, including in trade-economic, investment, transport-communication, energy and other spheres, was confirmed.
In a telephone conversation with the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, issues of practical implementation of the reached arrangements and signed agreements following the state visit of the Turkish leader to Uzbekistan in late April and early May of this year were considered.
Particular attention was paid to promotion of investment projects for creation of high-tech industries, modernization of energy, transport-communication and tourism infrastructure in the regions of Uzbekistan with participation of leading Turkish companies and banks.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan thanked the heads of foreign partner countries for the warm congratulations and, in turn, expressed sincere wishes of peace, stability and progress to people of friendly countries – Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.
