In Andijon, a round-table conversation has been conducted on further strengthening social partnership among state departments, nongovernmental non-profit organizations and other civil society institutions in ensuring the implementation of programmes for territories’ socio-economic development.
The event was arranged by the parliamentary commission under the Oliy Majlis (parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the management of the funds of the public foundation for supporting nongovernmental non-profit organizations and other civil society institutions, jointly with the public commission for social partnership under the Andijon Regional council of people’s deputies and the Andijon territorial department of the independent institute for monitoring civil society formation.
The chiefs of nongovernmental non-profit organizations functioning in the region, deputies of local councils and employees of mass media participated in the round-table conversation.
It was said that in this country consistent work was carried out to strengthen social partnership between state administration bodies, nongovernmental non-profit organizations and other civil society institutions for the purpose of resolving topical tasks in the economic, socio-political and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
An exchange of opinions took place on further strengthening cooperation between state departments and nongovernmental and non-profit organizations, improving the work of the public commission for social partnership under the Andijon Regional council of people’s deputies and ensuring nongovernmental non-profit organizations’ active participation in contests for grants of the public foundation for supporting nongovernmental non-profit organizations and other civil society institutions under the Oliy Majlis (parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan. There was an effective analysis of projects of social importance implemented by nongovernmental non-profit organizations.
“In our country, the scale and volume of support for socially significant projects of nongovernmental non-profit organizations and financial aid in the forms of subsidy and state grants for media are expanding with every passing year. This helps to further boost their activeness in the process of civil society formation in the country,” says Tolkinjon Karimov, a member of the parliamentary commission for the management of the funds of the public foundation for supporting nongovernmental non-profit organizations and other civil society institutions under the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the round-table conversation, certificates were given to the editorial boards of the Mahorat Oynasi magazine and the Qishloq Oqshomi newspaper which had won in the public foundation’s contest for grants in 2016.
Participants expressed their opinions on stepping up social partnership among state bodies, nongovernmental non-profit organizations and other civil society institutions in effectively implementing socially significant projects.
Moreover, specialists gave advice and recommendations on participation in contests for grants this year.
