Tashkent saw the opening of the street named after the prominent Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly and monument with his bas-relief image.

Literature brings peoples and countries closer. The hearts of Uzbek and Turkmen peoples beat in unison, as they live in peace and harmony since ancient times. We share a closeness in language and customs, culture, literature and art. As Turkmens love reading the gazelles of Alisher Navoi, so the Uzbeks appreciate Magtymguly.

This was once again confirmed at a ceremony held on 18 may in dedicated to the opening of the street named after this famous poet and thinker.. The event was attended by representatives of state and public organizations of our country, representatives of various national cultural centers, poets and writers, literary critics, artists and students.
